In compliance with
the increased homeland security initiatives and recommendations by U.S.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) related to warehouse security, St.
George Warehouse (STG) has developed and implemented a sound security
program which is fully documented, enforced and internally audited by
corporate staff at each of our USA locations.
PHYSICAL
SECURITY
Our facilities are approved and authorized by CBP to operate as
bonded warehouses as outlined in 19CFR code of the Federal Register. In
addition to locking devices and fencing (911 lock boxes where required),
each station is alarm protected against burglary and fire, with land line
and mobile communications to central monitoring stations, along with 24/7
security guard service in most locations. Adequate lighting is provided
inside and outside of each facility. Parking for private vehicles are
located in areas physically separated from warehouse functions of
shipping, receiving and/or loading docks and cargo handling areas
ACCESS and THEFT CONTROL
Positive identification of all employees, visitors and vendors is
carefully monitored, while visitors must be accompanied by a STG
representative at all times. Access to sensitive areas within our
facilities is further restricted by locked cages. All drivers must sign in
and out upon arrival and departure. These drivers are restricted to a
designated area (in some cases fenced). Once assigned a dock door, they
are required to remain at the rear of their vehicle as wandering is not
permitted.
PROCEDURAL SECURITY – SHIPPING and RECEIVING
All cargo entering or departing our facility is inventoried through
computer generated reports, while historical data can be accessed upon
request. Container seal numbers are immediately verified for accuracy
prior to breaking. Overages and/or shortages that may occur are reported
to CBP via a Manifest Discrepancy Report. All shipments being released or
delivered are processed only with proper authorization and/or release from
our customers and/or CBP.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) SECURITY CONTROLS
All of our information systems are protected by employee network security
at every level. Each workstation is installed with anti-virus software and
external intrusion is prevented by data encryption firewalls. Customer
access to our web is granted through the use of log-ins and passwords,
which controls the release of information to that designated pre-approved
customer.
INTERNAL CONTROLS
Regular staff meetings are conducted at each station to ensure that all
standard operating and security procedures are being complied with.
Corrective action items are brought to senior management for ultimate
approval. In addition, yearly meetings are held at a corporate level for
overall review and updates.
PERSONNEL SECURITY
As mandated in the 19CFR, STG conducts employment screening and
interviewing of all prospective employees to include periodic background
and application verifications.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING AWARENESS
Awareness is provided on a daily basis pertaining to (but not limited)
internal discrepancies, cage security and data integrity. Determining and
addressing unauthorized access is paramount.
