NOTICE: TMF Increase at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach

July 2, 2026

Effective August 1, 2026, the Traffic Mitigation Fee (TMF) at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach will  be $40.63 per twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) and $81.26 for all other container sizes. The fee applies to all non-exempt containers.

The adjustment reflects the increase in longshore wage and assessment rates established under the recently updated coastwide labor contract between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) and the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA).

Containers exempt from the TMF include:

The OffPeak program provides regularly scheduled night or weekend shifts to manage trucks delivering and picking up containers at the twelve container terminals in the two adjacent ports. PierPASS launched the OffPeak program in 2005 to reduce severe cargo related congestion and air pollution on local streets and highways around the Los Angeles  and Long Beach ports.
