NOTICE: Tornado Derails UP Train in Kansas – Updates 5.27

Dear Business Partner,

On Sunday, May 18th, 2025 a tornado caused the derailment of several containers on a stopped Union Pacific Railroad train in Kansas. This incident was the result of a significant weather event. As such, Union Pacific anticipates Force Majeure will be designated for this derailment.
 
Contractors have been assigned to begin the derailment remediation process. Due to Memorial Day Holiday, remediation work is tentatively scheduled to commence on today, Tuesday, May 27th. Please note that this is a dynamic process expected to span several weeks.
