NOTICE: Tornado Derails UP Train in Kansas – UPDATED 6.26.25
Dear Business Partner,
Please be advised of the following update regarding the ongoing rail derailment as of today, Thursday, June 26, 2025.
For shipments scheduled to arrive in Salt Lake City, Union Pacific is currently rerouting containers westbound due to no direct route from Kansas City to Chicago. Containers are being diverted to Salt Lake City, where they will then be transferred to an eastbound train bound for Chicago.
We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide another update tomorrow, or sooner if new information becomes available. We understand this disruption has been ongoing, and we are doing everything we can to expedite movement to final destinations.
